Our Therapists

Laura Southwick – Psychotherapist, MSc, MBACP

In my practice, I offer a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you can feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood. I work with adults facing a wide range of challenges, always recognising that each person’s path is unique.

With over a decade of experience in the corporate world, I bring a grounded understanding of the pressures that professional life can carry. If you’re navigating workplace stress, career transitions, or the complex demands of high-performance environments, I offer a compassionate and informed perspective tailored to your experience.

I practice from a psychodynamic framework, which means we’ll explore how your past—especially unconscious patterns and early experiences—may be influencing your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This deeper level of insight allows for meaningful, long-term change in areas where you may feel stuck or unfulfilled.

Finding the right therapist is a powerful and sometimes daunting step. I aim to create a space where you can safely explore whatever you're facing, at your own pace and without judgment. If you're ready to begin that journey, feel free to reach out. I’d be glad to discuss how we can work together.

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

Laura uses CFT to help clients cultivate a kinder relationship with themselves, especially those struggling with self-criticism, shame, or anxiety. Drawing from attachment theory, neuroscience and mindfulness, she guides clients in building inner compassion, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of self-worth.

Integrative Therapy

As an integrative therapist, Laura tailors each session to her client’s personality, goals and history. She blends modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic approaches and mindfulness-based techniques, providing flexible, holistic care that supports lasting transformation.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, or simply looking for deeper self-understanding, Lacey’s grounded, empathetic approach helps clients feel truly seen and supported on their journey toward well-being.

Alp Ulgen – Psychotherapist, MA, HCPC-Art Therapy

Hi, I am Alp (he/him), the founder of Art-Led Psychotherapy. I am an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and have an up-to-date ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ (DBS) check. Whether you're curious, feeling stuck, or simply looking for something new, I provide a safe, confidential, and compassionate space to create, reflect, and reconnect — at your own pace for an expressive form of talking therapy that utilises the arts to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

I specialise in adult mental health and wellbeing, including depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, domestic and sexual abuse, developmental trauma, sexual identity, personality disorders, and bipolar disorder. I provide individual and group art therapy for adults from diverse backgrounds, such as race, culture, neurodiversity, sexuality, gender and disability.

Art led psychotherapy engages the senses, supports the connection between body and mind, fosters inner balance, and offers new perspectives. You can book a single session to explore what it’s like — with no expectation to continue.

Drawing on evidence-based approaches and over [insert years] of clinical experience, Alp helps clients reconnect with themselves and move toward a more hopeful, fulfilling future.

Bipolar Disorders

With specialised experience in mood disorders, Alp supports clients living with Bipolar I, Bipolar II, or Cyclothymic Disorder. Sam Leslie – Psychotherapist, PsychD, MUKCP

Hello, I'm Sam, an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor working with children, adolescents and adults online. Together, we can navigate the challenges you may be facing, whether it's stemming from a traumatic event, a complex childhood with experiences of neglect and abuse, or to work on patterns that you notice might be blocking you reaching your goals. A common thread of depression and anxiety often lead people to initiate their therapeutic journey, or perhaps you're simply seeking additional support during a phase where you don't feel quite like yourself.

Our work may focus on a specific aspect of your life for short-term intervention, or it could involve a more comprehensive exploration requiring in-depth psychotherapy to untangle your past. As an integrative transpersonal psychotherapist, I draw upon various approaches tailored to each individual, incorporating spiritual aspects where appropriate.

I offer a safe and supportive environment for you to delve into your self-discovery journey, recovering facets of yourself that may have been impacted along the way. If you feel prepared to embark on the adventure of personal growth and healing, please reach out to schedule an initial session.

Family Conflicts

Sam specialises in helping individuals and families navigate complex relational dynamics and longstanding tensions. Whether you're dealing with communication breakdowns, generational patterns, or unresolved emotional wounds, Sam offers a safe and structured space to explore these issues with care and clarity. With a calm, non-judgmental presence, she supports clients in understanding their roles within the family system, fostering healthier boundaries, connection, and mutual respect.

Addiction

Sam brings a compassionate and trauma-informed approach to working with individuals affected by addiction—whether it involves substances, behaviours, or cycles of dependency. She understands that addiction is often rooted in deeper emotional pain, unmet needs, or coping mechanisms that once served a purpose. Through personalised, evidence-based therapy, Sam helps clients move beyond shame, build insight, and develop healthier strategies for long-term recovery and self-empowerment.
